NEW Pine Tree Plate Issuance

We will begin to issue the NEW Pine Tree Plates starting May 1, 2025!!

A few things to remember:

– After May 1, 2025 Chickadee Plates will NO LONGER be issued.

– Even though these are NEW plates they are still considered a re-registration.

– The NEW Pine Tree Plates are replacing ONLY the Chickadee Plates.

– If you have a new (or new to you) vehicle to register and want the regular PC Plate (not a specialty plate) and it is after May 1, 2025 you will be issued one of the NEW Pine Tree Plates for that vehicle.

– If your vehicle registration expires in May of 2025 we CANNOT re-register it before May 1, 2025.

– If your vehicle expires at any time BEFORE May 1, 2025 and you come in to re-register it AFTER May 1, 2025 you WILL NOT receive one of the new plates until the following year when your registration expires again (unless you want to pay an extra fee to get the new Pine Tree Plate).

– For vehicles with regular PC Plates (meaning NOT commercial, antique, Motor Home, etc.) you have a choice of a NEW Plate with the Tree and Star or NO Tree and NO Star. All others can only be issued the Plate with the Tree and Star.

– Those that have already reserved a NEW Pine Tree Plate will receive those plates in the mail before their registration expires. You MUST bring those plates into the office with you to re-register your vehicle when it is due.

– You may still utilize the online Rapid Renewal service to re-register your vehicle. BMV will mail you your new plates with new stickers.
