The select board has allowed me to distribute it. To be transparent, it was given to us to pass out at town events, so this needed a discussion. Please only for people with NO drinking water at this time. I am working to get more for everyone who's low, but let's focus on those who are out for now.I will be at the Community Center tonight (Wed) at 6PM to give it out. I'll stay until 7 or until it's gone. First come, first served. One case per household. Mercer Resident's only. Sorry, but being so scarce at the moment, if I don't know you personally please bring something stating you are a resident. Tax bill, registration, power bill, anything. There are only 30 cases available today. If you have no way to get there, contact me before 6pm and I'll put a case aside and deliver it.I am looking into more long term solutions since there is no rain predicted, and we need about 10" before the ground freezes.Any plausible ideas on drinkable water is welcome. Please check in on any neighbors you know are not on social media, and let us know if they are dry.The State EMA has asked if your well is low or dry that you fill out a quick well survey so they can get a good picture of how bad the issue is. It may help us get some help. All of our abutting towns have this same issue.https://maine-dry-well-survey-maine.hub.arcgis.com/lastly, if you have farm animals that you can't water. Please let me know. We have access to 275 gallon water totes ...we can help get water to you.
