Mercer Transfer Station is permanently closed. Mercer resident can begin using Waste Management’s Residential Transfer Station (back gate) effective May 10, 2023.: Mercer Transfer Station is now permanently closed. Mercer residents can begin using Waste Management’s Residential Transfer Station (Back Gate) on Airport Road in Norridgewock as early as Wednesday, May 10th. Their hours are: Wednesday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For the time-being, residents will need to show their driver’s license and current vehicle registration to access the back gate. In time, we will have stickers available at the town office so you won’t need your registration or license to get into the landfill. You can bring your trash, recyclables, tires, bulky waste, electronics and metals, basically everything that you brought to Mercer’s Transfer Station. There will be no additional cost to dispose of these items at this time. Please spread the word…let your friends and neighbors know what is going on. The Transfer Station will be closed this Sunday, May 7th while we assess the road conditions. We will update the public on how we plan to handle our solid waste and recycling needs next week.
